Middle School Athletics

Building on the introduction of team sports in third grade, the Middle School program enables fourth and fifth grade students to gain additional experience in a wide variety of sports before choosing one sport per season in sixth grade.
Grades 4 - 5
Through a series of three-week units, fourth and fifth grade students practice several sports each season:
| Girls | Boys | |
| Fall | Field Hockey, Soccer | Football, Soccer |
| Winter | Basketball, Dance, Skating, Volleyball |
Basketball, Skating, Volleyball, Wrestling |
| Spring | Lacrosse, Softball | Lacrosse, Baseball |
Each sports unit begins with drills and lessons that target specific skills and culminates with a week of mini-games and full-field scrimmages. Students build conditioning, develop essential offensive and defensive skills, learn strategy and teamwork, and master the rules of each game.
Grade 6 Interscholastic Sports

Interscholastic competition begins in sixth grade. Students choose one sport each season from the following options:
| Girls | Boys | Coed | |
| Fall | Field Hockey, Soccer | Football, Soccer | |

During team practice and games, our coaches emphasize effort and participation, encouraging all our students to learn how to compete, how to work with others, how to win and lose, and how to surpass limitations.
"What we're really trying to do is have the students find a passion for athletics—wherever that passion may lie." - Peter Walmsley, Director of Interscholastic Athletics
