Athletics Overview

The GCDS Athletics and Physical Education Program is designed to encourage fitness for life and prepare students for competitive high school and college sports.

A high coach-to-student ratio supports the growth and skill development of our athletes.

Participation & Sportsmanship

All our students—from nursery through grade 9—participate in athletics during all three seasons.

This emphasis on participation and sportsmanship fosters enjoyment and builds character and teamwork skills that benefit our students both on and off the field.

Athletic Facilities

Extensive athletic facilities enable GCDS to offer a wide-range of sports and to field numerous teams in each sport.

"What we're really trying to do," says Peter Walmsley, Director of Interscholastic Athletics, "is have the students find a passion for athletics — wherever that passion may lie.
