GCDS Test Date for ISEE /ERB is November 13, 2010:
GCDS is a test center for the Educational Records Bureau (ERB). We will be administering the ERB (applying to grades 3 & 4) and ISEE (Independent School Entrance Examinations- applying to grades 5 and above) on Saturday morning, November 13, 2010 in our Upper School Building.
- Students registered for the exam must report to the GCDS Upper School by 8:30 a.m. Dismissal times will be posted.
- Registration information and sample test questions can be found on the ISEE website: ISEETest.org
- Students encouraged to bring an outside reading book.
- A snack will be provided, but students may bring their own snack if they prefer.
- No student will be admitted without their registration form for the ISEE test. (Students taking the ERB test in application for grades 3 and 4 next year, do not have a registration form.)
- Questions should be directed to the GCDS Admissions Office at 203-863-5610.

Phase I of GCDS Construction Project Completed with Opening of State-of-the-Art Environmentally responsible Upper School:
Upper School students (grades 7 through 9) entered a new upper school building at the start of the 2010-2011 school year. Environmentally responsible, fully air conditioned, and equipped with state-of-the arts classrooms and technology, this building enhances and supports the learning process of these students in the critical middle school years. The beautiful new building is shaded by the oldest known American Elm in the State of Connecticut. Last measured in 2001, the tree stood 106 feet tall and measured over 17 1/2 feet in circumference.

GCDS Launches Phase II of the Construction Project: A New Theatre and Arts Center:
Country Day opened its new environmentally sustainable Upper School Building by September, 2010. Phase II of the Capital Campaign, "Reaching for the Stars" began with the construction of a new 400 seat theatre and arts center. This building will be the capstone for the schools many performance-oriented curricular programs, including plays, musicals, public speaking, and outstanding cultural enrichment assemblies.
