Welcome to the Human Resources section of The Greenwich Country Day School's website! This is an online resource for those considering employment at the school.

The Human Resources Department works in partnership with the school's academic leaders and administrators to provide job applicants with a detailed, informed view of the school. We also facilitate various aspects of the employment process.

Our goals, closely aligned with the GCDS mission, foster a school culture of professional growth, performance excellence, mutual respect, and institutional diversity.  In addition to performing assigned job duties, the school encourages all GCDS Faculty and Staff to strive for competency in the following areas:

  • Character/ Integrity

  • Big Picture Perspective
  • Professionalism
  • Teamwork
  • Productivity

Teaching at GCDS

Great teachers are the cornerstone of a great school. Their work supports the growth and success of each student. For over eighty years, Country Day classrooms have been filled with teachers who are committed to building intellectual skills, instilling strong values, and inspiring a love for learning, while preparing students to attend the finest secondary schools.

We believe the quality of our faculty is essential to the achievement of our mission. The Greenwich Country Day School challenges students in mind, body, and spirit-for their personal growth and for the common good. Our school is fully accredited by CAIS (Connecticut Association of Independent Schools) and NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools).

GCDS offers competitive salaries and benefits, including medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, tuition remission, graduate school reimbursement and housing. The professional culture is maintained through a generous professional development program which encourages faculty to grow personally and professionally through workshops, conferences, training, on-site lectures, and sabbaticals

GCDS has an institutional commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion. GCDS does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ethnic background, sexual orientation, age, physical challenge, gender, or any other characteristic.
